Dr S. Ajit

Director, Professor of Ayurveda

Dr. Ajit (B.A.M.S, P.C.A.S) is an ‘Ayurvedacharya’, a graduate of the Government Ayurvedic Medical College, University of Patiala, in North India. In India, Dr. Ajit worked in general practice and as a ’Panchakarma’ Specialist, was a lecturer at several Ayurveda Colleges and was also a permanent employee of the Government of India as an Ayurvedic Medical Officer, spanning 20 years.

In 1996, Dr. Ajit relocated from India to New Zealand with a dream to teach and spread authentic Ayurveda in the western world. He is now the most experienced Ayurvedic Clinician and teacher in Australasia with over 43 years practice and teaching experience. He is a leader in the field of Ayurveda outside of India, where he has campaigned tirelessly to create high standards in the learning and scope of Ayurvedic practice.

At the A.I.A.S, Dr Ajit is Professor of Ayurveda.
He is the founding Patron of Australasian Ayurvedic Practitioners Association (Australia & New Zealand) and the President of the International Council of Ayurvedic Medicine (a ‘Peak Body’ outside India for creating uniform standards of Ayurveda in the West).
He has been instrumental in raising the profile of Ayurveda in Australasia, not only through his teaching and practice, but through his numerous speaking engagements, media work and meetings with Government officials, His efforts have been recognised with a number of awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Zealand Charter of Health Professionals, the Indian Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) for his contribution in promoting Ayurveda in the west and the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman from the NRI Welfare Society of India.

In addition to being the Director of the AIAS in Australia, Dr Ajit is the founding director of the Ayurda brand in Auckland New Zealand. Dr Ajit speaks at International Conferences, has developed TGA approved Ayurvedic Herbal Formulations, has contributed to the W.H.O working group documents – Benchmark for Practice in Ayurveda, and conducts an Ayurvedic practice in Auckland, New Zealand offering face-to-face consultations and treatment in Ayurveda and online Ayurveda consultations for those living in other localities across the world.

Richard has a long-standing interest in Complementary Medicine and Vedic Philosophy. At a young age he completed a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (B.C.T.A, Australia), has studied Western and Chinese Herbal medicine (Australia), Traditional Thai Massage (in Thailand, to teacher level), Traditional Hawai’ian Bodywork (Australia, and Hawai’i), and Advanced Diploma Ayurveda (AIAS, Australia). He also hosts and teaches Yoga classes full time at Ashtanga Yoga Shala, Brisbane’s home of Ashtanga Yoga.
Richard first brought Dr Ajit to Australia in the 1990’s and has been constant presence in the development of the AIAS. He is passionate about Ayurveda and its principles and is a strong advocate of the benefits of both Yoga and Ayurveda and an uncompromising advocate of authentic Yoga and Ayurveda.

Leanne Moore

Trainer and Assessor

Leanne has spent most of her adult life working in wholistic medicine, specialising Reflexology and Ayurvedic Medicine.
She began her career in 1994 as a Reflexologist and became a Trainer in Reflexology, teaching a Diploma of Reflexology. She is invested in maintaining high standards of training and has worked closely with the Australian Government as a member of the Subject Matter Expert Group to improve standards across Australia. Leanne has facilitated Post-graduate Reflexology workshops and has made several presentations at the National Reflexology Conferences.
She began her studies in Ayurveda in 2000 completing the Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultants course and the Advanced Diploma of Ayurvedic Medicine with AIAS. She maintains a busy practice in Northern NSW applying her skills practically.
As a Trainer at The Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies in Brisbane, she enjoys supporting students to become the best authentic Ayurvedic Practitioner possible. She has also taught Ayurvedic Massage and Ayurvedic Nutrition at the NSW School of Natural Medicine and facilitates Residential Retreats in Ayurveda, providing the opportunity for people to experience Ayurveda deeply.

Binu Pande

Trainer and Assessor

Binu Pande is a qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Yoga Teacher and Vedanta enthusiast. Her deeper quest for a fulfilling life led her to discover and study Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic concepts. She completed her Advanced Diploma in Ayurvedic studies in 2016 with Dr. Ajit, founder of Planet Ayurveda, and the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies.

She is currently working under Dr. Ajit B.A.M.S at the AIAS in Brisbane, mentoring Students and future Practitioners of Ayurveda. She also runs her private practice from her home-based clinic on QLD’s Sunshine Coast.
